Return of Kong Megaways is a follow-up to the original King Kong Cash slot, released on 24 April 2019. In this release, Blueprint opted for a combination of cascading wins and the Megaways mechanic, which proves to be an effective choice. The grid was expanded to a 6×7 layout, allowing up to 117,649 possible ways to win. The RTP has been increased to 96.03%, which is typical for Megaways engines, as is the upgraded volatility now set to above medium. However, the betting range is quite limited, offering stakes from just £0.10 to £10 per spin.
The visual design follows the familiar 3D cartoon style. The reels are set against a tropical island backdrop with stone-framed reels and torches on either side. The main character stands on a cliff, smiling as he watches the action unfold.
Symbols and paytable
Card symbols from 9 to A serve as the lower-paying, while cartoon animals make up the higher-paying ones. The Kong symbol awards up to 50x for six of a kind. The Wild symbol substitutes for all standard symbols, while the Scatter triggers the Free Spins round.

Gameplay
The gameplay is based on a combination of the Megaways engine and cascading wins. Wins are formed from left to right with combinations of 2 to 6 matching symbols. Additionally, during the base game, the Mystery Kong feature may be triggered to increase the chance of a larger win. Bonus features and free spins
- Cascading Reels: after every winning combination, the symbols involved are removed, and new ones drop down to fill the gaps. This can result in consecutive wins from a single spin.
- Mystery Kong: at random during any spin, Kong may throw up to 100 barrels onto the reels. All barrels then transform into the same matching symbol, potentially creating a high-paying combination.
- Free Spins: round triggered by landing symbols that spell out the word KONG. This awards 12 free spins. Each additional scatter on the triggering spin adds +5 extra spins. During the feature, each cascade increases a win multiplier by +1. This multiplier does not reset between spins.
- Monkey Trophy Collection: for every 3 Golden Monkey symbols collected, +2 extra free spins are awarded, and the minimum number of Megaways increases for the remainder of the bonus round.
